The Gables Hotel, Gretna Green

My stay at the hotel was a mix of lovely and disappointing moments. The rooms were basic but had everything needed, with a lovely jacuzzi bath as a nice touch. However, it was cold and not well-maintained, with some disturbance from other guests. The service was exceptional, with a very helpful and friendly staff. The location was convenient, especially for those heading to Gretna, but there were some maintenance issues evident. The dining experience was adequate, offering a variety of choices, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was a decent stay with both positive and negative aspects.

The hotel offered a convenient location for traveling between Scotland and England, with picturesque surroundings. The rooms needed updating, especially the bathroom, and the service from staff was attentive. The breakfast was good, although slightly overpriced, and the facilities were well-kept.

The hotel rooms didn't live up to expectations for the price; however, they were nice but very warm, making it ideal for a short stay. The service was commendable, with cleaners willing to return and the manager showing sympathy. The location was great for our needs, although it felt like sitting in a cafe for dinner. The dining experience was the best I've had, with a wide range of breakfast choices.
